At Infusionsoft, we know that our dedication to 100 percent small business success means that we have a responsibility to truly understand the small business market. Our 2014 Small Business Market Survey was an ambitious undertaking and proof of our commitment. Looking beyond mere demographics, we sought a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the successes, challenges and common needs of entrepreneurs from across the country. Nearly 850 American small business owners—with 25 or fewer employees—responded to an anonymous online survey administered by Audience Audit™. The results identified four distinct profiles of small business owners and can be downloaded as a full report. Although we discovered much diversity and segmentation—our results also confirmed what we instinctively understood—that small business owners have a lot in common. The challenges and struggles—as well as an overwhelming optimism for the future—were shared across the panel. This infographic highlights several of the most striking findings.
